Oxford’s Midland League campaign started on Sunday at Kidlington Forum Youth Club with a resounding victory for the Juniors over Gloucester. The visitors’ No 1 beat Jake East, but was the only Gloucester player to get on the scoreboard in a 9-1 thrashing. Ross Henderson and Chris Smith won all their singles and the doubles in a rousing performance.
Kidlington Forum’s Ross Henderson was the leading junior player in the Midland League last season and led the Oxford team into 2nd place. He is the No 1 ranked junior in Oxfordshire. Here he is pictured at his home club receiving the Midland League individual trophy from Forum committee man Paul Whitford.
